Bible Widget ("the App", "we", "us") is developed and operated by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, why, and how it is stored and shared.
When you first open the App, we sign you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This produces a unique anonymous user identifier (Firebase UID) that is stored on your device and used only to associate your subscription tier with your device when you contact our AI Chat backend. No personal information (name, email, phone number) is collected during this step.
If you purchase a subscription, RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) and Apple handle the transaction. Our backend receives a webhook notification with your subscription tier and an Apple transaction identifier. We store this on our servers to verify your premium access when you use AI Chat.
If you are a premium subscriber and use the "Chat about this" feature, your messages and the scripture verse you are reflecting on are sent to our backend, which forwards them to Anthropic (the AI provider) for processing. Per our agreement with Anthropic, your messages are not used for AI model training and are not retained by Anthropic beyond the duration of the request. Our backend does not store your chat messages — chat history is kept only on your device.
The following data is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers:
We may collect anonymized usage statistics (which screens are viewed, which features are used) through our analytics provider to understand product usage. This data is not linked to your personal identity.
We retain your subscription data for as long as you have an active or recently expired subscription. If you delete your account from the App (Settings → Delete Account), we delete all data associated with your Firebase UID from our backend within 30 days. Local data is removed from your device immediately. AI Chat messages are never retained on our backend.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This removes all backend data associated with you. You may also contact us at support@biblewidget.online for any privacy-related request.
The App is rated 4+ and may be used by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The anonymous identifier we use cannot be linked back to a child's identity.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
